The Quiet Season Starts Now

11/24 — Your Guide to Toronto Wellness This Week

Hey there,

I had one of those moments recently where you think you’re ahead of your life… and then life taps you on the shoulder like, “actually, no. I’d been eyeing this fitness certification for months. I built my whole Q1 around it — the schedule, the momentum, the routines I was so sure I’d step into. And then? It sold out. Just like that. Because I wasn’t fast enough.

And honestly, I was so upset. It wasn’t even about the certificate itself — it was about the expectation I’d built in my head. The version of myself I thought I’d become by spring. I had to sit myself down, breathe, and remember that annoying-but-true line we always tell ourselves: rejection is redirection.

If the door closed, maybe I’m not meant to walk through it right now.

Maybe there’s something else waiting for me at the start of the year — something I can’t see yet.

We do this all the time, don’t we? We attach ourselves to outcomes we haven’t even lived. We fall in love with the idea of a future that was never promised, and then we feel betrayed when it doesn’t happen. It’s okay to feel sad — I definitely did — but

it’s not okay to let one twist in the road convince you the whole journey is pointless.

We’ll get where we’re meant to be. I’m trusting that this redirect is part of mine.

And while I’m surrendering to the unknown, I do know this: we’re closing out the year together in the best way. My last two events of 2025 are live — if you haven’t peeked at the Vision Board Party, the early-bird pricing is still on until the end of the week.

And for anyone feeling the winter blues or navigating the holidays without family here (hi, same), I’m hosting a Christmas Dinner so no one has to do December alone.

More on that below — and for now, here’s to trusting the detours.

With love always,

Maria <3
